Bridging Support and Wellness
The Bridge Supports Program is a non-duplicating service for children, youth, and their non-offending family members who are referred to the CYACSM through the Advocate Program for investigation support.
Eligibility is based on participants who:
- Experience lengthy waitlists for referred long-term (LT) services.
- Do not meet eligibility requirements for Victim Quick Response Program (VQRP) funded services.
- Non-verified investigation reports which do not meet eligibility criteria for Regional Centre for Suspected Child Abuse & Neglect Therapeutic Programming (RC-SCAN).
- Non-investigative community referrals who are waitlisted for LT services.
- At-risk CY/F who are identified as benefiting from psychoeducation or secondary prevention education.

Children, youth, and families who are referred by a CYACSM Advocate will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the Program Team and Program Manager to determine priority triage of families based on the above criteria.
Supports for eligible participants may include the following:

- goal setting
- coping and grounding skills
- crisis support
- psychoeducational support
- primary and secondary prevention education

Each child, youth, or family member are eligible for up to 6 hours of Bridge Support Services (6 x 1hr sessions).

Bridge Supports Program can be delivered in-person, virtually and by phone based on the preference of the child, youth, and family member.

Areas of curriculum focus will be based on the individual needs and interests of the children, youth, and family members accessing support.
