MOBILE FORENSIC INTERVIEWS

To enhance accessibility, CYACSM has partnered with New Path Youth and Family Services. By utilizing their community-based offices, Advocates can conduct interviews and provide support directly to families within their own communities, minimizing travel distances and improving accessibility for all.

Simcoe Muskoka Region

The Simcoe Muskoka region spans 9,000 square kilometers, making it a vast area to serve. Many families and Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) partners face challenges in accessing one of the two Child & Youth Advocacy Centres due to scheduling conflicts, transportation barriers, and long travel distances. Families frequently identify transportation as a significant obstacle to receiving support, while MDT partners must prioritize serving their immediate communities, which does not always allow for investigations to take place at a CYAC.

By utilizing the offices of New Path Youth & Family Services and other key partners across the region, the MDT can conduct confidential forensic interviews closer to home, reducing barriers to access and ensuring families receive the support they need within their own communities.
